Has anyone used one, paid their own money? Any comments appreciated. The jacket would be used for 2 season back packing so hopefully would be carried most of the time. I need good bearthability when wearing a pack, at the moment the best thing I have found is Paclite but with prices of good fitting jackets approaching £160 something cheaper would be nice (as long as it works).

Mr G, I've just been through the same process (see thread in UL packpacking)and finally went for a paclite jacket. I looked at the whole gammut of manufacturers and fabrics but there just isn't enough info and opinion out there to convince me that I know what I'm letting myself in for with anything other than Gore or Event. Any purchase was going to be a significant investment and I wanted to be sure of what I was buying. Just ordered a Hagloffs OZ pullover for 150 quid and think you can get the Haglofs LIM ultimate for about the same ammount. 30 quid more than the karrimor but paclite is not an unknown. Believe Mike Fea Dundee uses a LIM and is quite positive about it.
