Hiking partner

I am planning on a trip to the Cairngorms region in early January and looking for a buddy or buddies for walking and trekking.
I have lots of hiking experience and limited climbing experience.

I am starting training for a long trek in the states later in the year.
I will also be hiking in Europe at various locations early 2008. :D
Currently live in Devon but will be based in Surrey early 2008.

I work in Surrey and I'm a member of a london based climbing club so when you get yourself settled up this way let me know.

The clubs website is http://www.themmc.org.uk/

Cairngorm trip

I'm based in Perthshire and January is my quietist time of year, so I'm up for it. I've a reasonable amount of backpacking & scrambling experience, but not a great deal of winter stuff under my belt, though I'm hoping to have been out playing in the snow a few more times at lest by then - weather permitting.

Give me a shout if you fancy it.

Lake District

hey dont worry .....going to be sensible!
I don't have much winter mountain experience..... but you have to start somewhere!
Having said that, I figure Dartmoor winter walking is pretty good experience!
Thanks for the warning

By the way does anyone fancy hiking in the lake district late January?

If anyone else is in this area in December, give me a shout... my most quiet time of year so much walking to be had hopefully! I'm in Perthshire, so so can get to most of Scotland but Aviemore/ Dalwhinnie or in between is easiest.

Hello

I would be up for it as long as it's after the 16th Jan?

I'm up here until at least the end of 2008... so if you're headed this way then let me know. Weekends towards the end of January should be fine, February is much busier though - season starts earlier every year :-)
