Hello and Help

Hello to all.
After reading the magazine for a time now I thought it would be good to idea to get with modern tech and do stuff on line .
OK the question is - Im looking for a new rucksack of about 40 to 50 ltr, but at 6'6" tall im finding most of the back systems are a bit small at 21 or 22 inches. does anyone know of a pack that goes up to 23" or greater so that i can wear the pack with different gear on. It will be for both summer and winter hillwalking so I don't mind if it is a mountain pack or a general type. If anyone has the same problem what did you end up buying and where did you get it.

RE: Hello and Help

Hi Alan

I am 6 foot 3 inches so not quite your height and have just about given up on back length - and on almost any sac the hip belt almost never sits on my hips so does not assist with taking the weight, just stability. But I use a long Osprey Tallon 33 which I like very much for day walks in winter and summer - it has a pretty generous capacity for 33 litres, is reasonably light, comfortable and I have "grown" into it. For larger loads the Golite Pinnacle, long length is superb - and it compacts down really well so can be used for just a day if you want - and it is really light.

I see the Catalyst is available in 23" plus back length.
