Free Camping, worldwide!

Hi mates,

I would like to introduce something to you and ask you for opinion and comments.

Maybe some of you know couchsurfing.org.

I want to do something similar, but for outdoorfans, trekker, scouts and nature loving people in general.

I want it to become a worldwide organization.

The members offer each other some help. How? Just a place for their tent and some fresh water. That's it!

No need to plan every night's campsite, just print a map of the needed area and go for it.

Maybe you would like to have a look at freagle.org.

As you can see, not everything is finished yet, especially the english translations are not.

If you are a native speaker, you are very welcome to give me a helping hand. Maybe you like this idea and want to join us anyway.

Right now we have about 20 campsites in germany and france.
This is just awesome and a totally new possibility to travel the world.

Yet we've got about 20 campsites in Germany and France. You can go there anytime for free!

Feel free to camp at my place, it's 7 km south of Hamburg in the countryside.

That's a damned good idea - shame my garden is the size of a tent - but I'm sure there must be plenty who could offer a corner and crust. Good luck.

I think this is a great idea, you would wonder why it hasn't been thought of before! Are there any other organisations offering anything similar for camping in the UK? Very interesting concept any way, best of luck with it. Mind you, like Dave my garden is a bit small for a tent and campers would have to contend with a very territorial Schnauzer ;)

Brilliant idea, I hope it goes well. Unfortunately my garden is so overgrown, a machete and hammock would be required. Good luck with the scheme.

That's an amazing idea. There's something similar already set up for cycle tourists: www.warmshowers.org

I'd be happy for people to camp in my garden, although most of it is on a horrendous slope so there's probably only space for a 2-man tent on the level!

Nepal is wonderful palace for camping & trekking. it is one of the most beautiful land located between Tibet in North & India in South. nepal trekking is consider one of the best adventure holiday in this planet. It rises from less than 100 metres (328 ft) elevation in the tropical Terai—the northern rim of the Gangetic Plain, beyond the perpetual snow line to some 90 peaks over 7,000 metres (22,966 ft) including Earth's highest 8,848 metres (29,029 ft) Mount Everest or Sagarmatha. In addition to the continuum from tropical warmth to cold comparable to polar regions, average annual precipitation varies from as little as 160 millimetres (6.3 in) in the rainshadow north of the Himalaya to as much as 5,500 millimetres (216.5 in) on windward slopes.
