I've come to half accept Lake Windermere as it is almost universally used. Just like Alastair Lee in TGO .... my overwhelming sense of disillusionment (page32) was rekindled when I read on page 37 Lake Buttermere. Please go back down south if you don't know what the mere at the end of Buttermere means.
