I can't seem to get any pictures to post - when I paste the url for the photo - nothing ! Any ideas ?

I uploaded an image to imageshack when it uploaded it gave me a URL which I copy and pasted into the URL field that popped up when I clicked the icon and everything worked fine.

If your trying to put a picture that already exists on the internet I think you have to right click on the image, select "copy image location" and paste that in, if that's what your doing then I don't know sorry. But maybe the image shack way will be fine.

This is what I get when I post an image. The url doesn't appear in this box but at the top of the page - even when I click and drag it into here it doesn't open. - I've tried it with photos in flickr and in webshots - in both cases they're my own photos.
Has anyone any further ideas ?

Ah well that worked but I still had to click and drag the url from the top of the web page into this window - but better than nothing.

Well that's better - still places the url at the top of the web page but at least the photo opens. Webshots have just changed their way of logging in - I seem to have to do it twice before my own photos are available to me to post - hey ho.

I can only see one of your pictures in your post Dave, it's the one from google images.

It's the same for the picture you posted (at least I think you posted) in the "Favourite places - favourite views" thread. I can't see that either.

Maybe try the imageshack link in my last post and see if it makes a difference, I've been having no troubles with that. If you, when it gives you a link to copy and paste, it's the "direct link" one you want.

Tried Image shack too - still no joy. The only pictures that come up are the ones directly off Google images.

That said as I sit here writing this I can see the second webshots image in my last post below - i.e the view to Skye shot - but when I go out and back in again - zap - gone - like a cool breeze.

I'll have to stick with posting links which seems to work fine coz I can't be a***d to keep messing about for the sake of posting a picture - life's too short.

Cheers - thanks for your assitance - I've finally cracked it - when I use Webshots I have to sign in twice over (!), and use the 'direct link' link rather than the 'forum' link. Then I have to grab the link from the top of the web page and drag it into it's proper place in this window - but at least I can post photos now - phew
